100 X 100 X 1.8M GREEN PRESSURE TREATED FENCE POST
UC4 (user class 4) is the category or specification to which the timber is treated. This is a far superior class of treatment, which carries a 15-year life expectancy. The process starts with the type of timber being selected. Rather than spruce, these posts are redwood. The reason for this is that, before being pressure treated, the wood is kiln dried, and redwood reacts much better and stays stable during this process. The actual pressure treatment process and chemical composition is the same as a UC3 spec’ treatment, but because the timber is so dry, the treatment is forced much further into the timber. The kiln drying will typically take the moisture content of the wood down to around 28%, which is very low.
